The Effect of Geometry on the Local Stresses in Threaded Tether Connections

Abstract

The effect of changing an element of thread geometry of the complete coupling on the maximum local stress occurring in a threaded tether connection is investigated using a previously validated analog-numerical technique. Results are presented for changes in tooth fillet radius, pitch, wall thickness and the number of engaged teeth.
