Abstract
Treating the density of the lubricant as a function of temperature and the viscosity as a function of pressure and temperature, the problem of the parallel-surface slider bearing without side leakage is solved exactly for the case of adiabatic flow. The theory permits rapid evaluation of the maximum film pressure, the point in the film where the maximum pressure occurs, the film temperature at this point, and the film temperature at outlet.
