Abstract
Smokeless burning of gases presents serious problems. These are particularly severe in the case of process plants where emergency dumps occur frequently. Such dumps permit no control of any of the factors required for smokeless combustion. This paper describes some of the difficulties and suggests methods for achieving blue-flame burning which is virtually smokeless.
